Precautions for Purchasing Cored Wire Equipment

In order to improve the quality of steel and make the ladle and refining furnace achieve the purpose of desulfurization, deoxidation, fine adjustment of composition and inoculation, it is necessary for the operator to feed the alloy cored wire and aluminum core wire into the steel ladle (hot metal ladle) through the cored wire equipment in the process of liquid steel refining. In the metallurgical industry, with the continuous development of steelmaking technology, the demand for high-quality alloy steel, ball bearing steel, and variety steel is also increasing. Compared with the traditional powder spraying method, the cored wire equipment technology has a greater yield. Customers need to master the following common sense and skills when purchasing cored wire equipment:

1.  Confirm the number of cored wires and parameters

Confirm whether the product model is dual-stream or 4-stream, consult and inspect some core wire manufacturer for quotations, wire feeding capacity, service life, materials of wearing parts, and after-sales service commitments.

2.  Quality identification method of cored wire

First look at whether the appearance of the equipment, the paint treatment and the color of the outer cover are new. Secondly, test the machine according to the operation manual to ensure the normal operation of various parts of the equipment and whether there is noise.

3. Maintenance and after-sales service commitment

Due to the special use of cored wire for steel making, it is particularly important whether the after-sales service of the cored wire equipment manufacturer is timely after the failure occurs. Generally, the time promised by manufacturers is to solve the problem within 48 hours, but there are many manufacturers who can not really do it. It is necessary to reserve a part of the warranty money when signing the contract to ensure that the after-sales service and promises can be fulfilled in time.
